Das Bewerbungsfenster für das Europäische Forum Alpbach 2025 ist jetzt geschlossen.

Die Bewerbungsmodalitäten für 2026 werden im Februar 2026 hier bekannt gegeben. Zur Orientierung, 2025 fand der Bewerbungsprozess von 03.-25.03.2025 statt.

Umfang eines Stipendiums

Ein Club-Stipendium ermöglicht die Teilnahme am Europäischen Forum Alpbach und deckt die gesamte Teilnahmegebühr sowie die Unterkunft ab. Allfällige Reisekosten müssen selber getragen werden. Club-Stipendiat:innen haben außerdem die Möglichkeit, dem Club Alpbach Vorarlberg beizutreten und dadurch auch nach dem Forum den Diskurs weiterzutragen.

Wer sollte sich bewerben?

Engagierte, junge Menschen zwischen 18 und 30 Jahren (Stichtag 30.08.1994), die sich entweder in universitärer, Lehr- oder sonstiger Ausbildung oder am Beginn ihrer Berufslaufbahn befinden („young professionals“),

die ein interdisziplinärer Zugang zu Europa anspricht,
die Diversität von Meinungen und Kulturen aufgeschlossen gegenüber stehen,
die kontaktfreudig und interessiert an Vernetzung sind,
die einen starken, persönlichen Bezug zum Bundesland Vorarlberg haben
und bereit sind, über die gesamte Dauer in Alpbach anwesend zu sein (16.08.2025 – 29.08.2025).*
Zwei weitere Pflichttermine sind die Stipendienvergabe (01.08.2025) und der Alpbach-Homecoming-Abend (12.09.2025), die in Vorarlberg stattfinden werden.

Wir möchten insbesondere auch Menschen mit Behinderung; Personen, die einer ethnischen oder religiösen Minderheit angehören; queere Personen; und Personen, die aus einem nicht-privilegierten Umfeld stammen, zur Bewerbung motivieren.

* Wir berücksichtigen auch Bewerbungen von Interessierten, die nicht die vollen 14 Tage in Alpbach verbringen können, jedoch werden Bewerber:innen, die das gesamte Forum in Alpbach sein möchten, im Auswahlverfahren bevorzugt.

Was wird benötigt?

Ein Motivationsschreiben (max. 2 A4 Seiten), welches auf folgende Punkte eingeht:
- Deinen persönlichen Hintergrund.
- Deine Motivation am EFA teilzunehmen und dich mit dem diesjährigen Generalthema – Recharge Europe – und einem oder mehreren der thematischen Tracks – Klima, Wirtschaft und Finanzen, Sicherheit, Demokratie und Rechtsstaatlichkeit – auseinanderzusetzen.
- Deine Antwort auf die Fragen:
  - Wenn du die Möglichkeit hättest, etwas an dir zu verändern, was wäre das und welchen Einfluss hätte es auf dein Leben bzw. jenes der Menschen in deiner Umgebung?
  - Welche Besonderheit würdest du in die diesjährige Kohorte der Stipendiat:innen und in den Club Alpbach Vorarlberg mitbringen?
Lebenslauf (max. 2 A4-Seiten) OHNE Foto,
Studienerfolgsbescheid (aktuelles Sammelzeugnis) oder andere Leistungsnachweise der Ausbildungsstelle (soweit vorhanden),
weitere Zeugnisse, Urkunden, Auszeichnungen, Portfolio, etc. liegen in deinem Ermessen.

Bewerbung

Die Bewerbungsunterlagen (in deutscher oder englischer Sprache) und das Application Form müssen an club.alpbach.vorarlberg@gmail.com gesendet werden.

Die Bewerbungsunterlagen sollen als eine einzige PDF-Datei (Nachname_Vorname) eingereicht werden. Dabei ist innerhalb des Dokuments folgende Reihenfolge einzuhalten: Motivationsschreiben, Lebenslauf, Zeugnisse der Bildungseinrichtung (falls vorhanden), Sonstige Unterlagen/Zeugnisse. Das Application Form bitte separat in der Bewerbungsmail anhängen. Die Größe des Emails sollte 10MB nicht überschreiten, ansonsten können die Dateien in einem wetransfer Link angehängt werden. Falls innerhalb von 2 Tagen keine Empfangsbestätigung kommen sollte, bitten wir um ein Follow-up. Bitte auch den Spam Ordner überprüfen.

Information on scholarship & application

There are various ways to apply for a scholarship at the European Forum Alpbach. The Club Alpbach Vorarlberg awards scholarships to interested persons who have a strong personal connection to the Bundesland Vorarlberg. We advise all others to inform themselves HERE about the numerous other application possibilities.

Application Deadline

The application window for the European Forum Alpbach 2025 is now closed.
The application modalities for 2026 will be announced here in February 2026. For orientation, in 2025 the application process ran from 03-25 March 2025.

Scope of a scholarship

A Club Scholarship enables participation in the European Forum Alpbach and covers the entire participation fee as well as accommodation. Any travel expenses must be covered individually. Club scholarship holders also have the opportunity to join the Club Alpbach Vorarlberg and to share the Alpbach-discourse beyond the forum.

Who should apply?

Committed young people between the ages of 18 and 30 (cut off date 30/08/1994) who are either in university, teaching or other training or at the beginning of their professional careers („young professionals“),

who are attracted by an interdisciplinary approach to Europe,
who are open to a diversity of opinions and cultures,
who are sociable and interested in networking,
who have a strong personal connection to the province of Vorarlberg
and are prepared to be present in Alpbach for the entire duration of the event (16/08 – 29/08/2025)*.
Two further mandatory dates are the scholarship award ceremony (01/08/2025) and the Alpbach Homecoming Evening (12/09/2025), which will take place in Vorarlberg.

We would particularly like to encourage people with disabilities; people from ethnic or religious minorities; queer people; and people from non-privileged backgrounds to apply.

* We will also consider applications from interested parties who cannot spend the full 14 days in Alpbach, but applicants who wish to be in Alpbach for the entire Forum will be given preference in the selection process.

What is required?

A letter of motivation (max. 2 A4 pages) addressing the following points:
- Your personal background.
- Your motivation to participate in EFA and engage with this year’s overarching theme – Recharge Europe – and one or more of the thematic tracks – Climate, Finance and Economy, Security, Democracy and Rule of Law.
- Your response to the questions:
  - If you had the possibility to change something about yourself, what would you choose and how would it change yourself and your life/the lives of people around you?
  - What’s something special that you would bring to this year’s cohort of scholarship holders and the Club Alpbach Vorarlberg?

Curriculum vitae (max. 2 A4 pages) WITHOUT photo,
Transcript of records (current transcript of records) or other proof of achievement from the training center (if available),
Further certificates, diplomas, awards, portfolios, etc. are at your discretion.

Application

The application documents (in German or English) and the application form must be sent to club.alpbach.vorarlberg@gmail.com.

The application documents should be submitted as a single PDF file (last name_first name). The following order must be maintained within the document: Letter of motivation, CV, educational institution certificates (if available), other documents/certificates. Please attach the application form separately in the application email. The email size should not exceed 10MB; otherwise, the files can be attached in a wetransfer link. You should get a confirmation that we received your application within 2 days, if not, please follow up. Don’t forget to check your spam folder.

selection process

Our Advisory Board, together with the Board Members, decides in April who will receive a scholarship. The scholarships are awarded after a holistic assessment of the applicant’s CV, social commitment and elaborations in their letter of motivation. We expect to be able to provide 10 scholarships in 2025. All applicants will be informed by the beginning of May whether their application has been successful.
